The island of Rügen is a holiday destination with many facets and is beautiful in every season. A way to discover the islands most beautiful features from a unique perspective is on the Treetop Walk in Prora. The step-free wooden walkway winds through the middle of a natural beech forest and leads to a height of 82 metres above sea level.

The Humboldt penguins on the roof terrace are among the public favourites of the OZEANEUM. They can also be observed swimming and diving in an extensive underwater area.

Nationalpark-Zentrum Königsstuhl

Directly at the famous chalk cliff Königsstuhl and in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Old Beech Forests on Rügen, the Nationalpark-Zentrum Königsstuhl offers its visitors a special nature experience.

In unmittelbarer Nähe zum Baumwipfelpfad lassen sich im Glaspalast beeindruckende Skulpturen aus Sand betrachten.

Sand Sculptures Rügen

In the Glass Palace in Prora, you can marvel at impressive works of art made of sand. The sand used by the artists is not ordinary sand for building blob castles, but young, sharp-edged sand that can be “stacked”.

Das Dokumentationszentrum Prora befindet sich in der Anlage des geplanten KdF Seebades Rügen und kann auch vom Baumwipfelpfad aus gut gesehen werden.

Documentation Centre Prora

The documentation centre is located in the grounds of the planned “KdF seaside resort of Rügen”, which became known as the “Colossus of Rügen”. It is a listed historical building and houses the permanent exhibition MACHTUrlaub.

Erlebniswelt Rugard

The Erlebniswelt Rugard (Rugard World of Adventure) offers variety and fun for young and young hearted. In the recreation area of the city of Bergen on Rügen, the island toboggan run invites you to a fast descent. A 23-metre high slide tower next to the toboggan run provides even more action.

Das Kreidemuseum auf Rügen nahe dem Baumwipfelpfad ist das einzige Kreidemuseum in Europa.

Rügen Chalk Museum

Europe’s only chalk museum is located on the site of a historic chalk factory from the time of traditional chalk mining. It provides information about the geology of the island, its fossils, the natural material chalk and its many uses – including as medicinal chalk.

Die Putbuser Fürstenfamilie errichtete das heutige Museum als Jagdschloss Granitz auf Rügen.

Granitz Hunting Lodge

Once the luxuriously furnished hunting lodge of the Putbus princely family, today the “Jagdschloss Granitz” is a museum castle with an extravagant central tower.

Das Kap ist eine 45 Meter hohe Steilküste und stellt ein echtes Highlight der Insel dar.

Cape Arkona

The cape is a 45-metre-high cliff made of chalk and boulder clay and is almost the northernmost point on the island. You can enjoy a fantastic view from the beacon and the sounding tower.
