Weather

Can I visit the Treetop Walk in all weather conditions?

Can I visit the Treetop Walk in all weather conditions?

Yes, the path is open in all weather conditions, even when it rains. If it snows, the path is cleared properly and is therefore also accessible for our guests.
However, in the event of thunderstorms, hail, storms and ice, we reserve the right to close the trail for safety reasons.
If we have to close the trail at short notice, we will announce it here on our website, on Facebook and Instagram. Before you head off to the Naturerbe Zentrum Rügen, we recommend to take a quick look at one of these channels!

Barrier-free

The access to the entrance tower, the tree top walk and the observation tower “Adlerhorst” are designed to be fully accessible and age-friendly.
The path is, with a maximum gradient of 6 %, also accessible for wheelchair users and prams. There are areas along the way without ascents, which offer opportunities to take a break.
At the end of the Treetop Walk, an exit tower brings you back to the ground. Once you have reached the bottom, you can go directly to the environmental information centre.
In the exit tower as well as in the environmental information centre, a lift makes it easy for senior citizens, wheelchair users and parents with prams to visit.
Our restaurant, the Boomhus Gastronomie, is also accessible to wheelchair users.

We recommend that people with a disabled pass (B) buy their ticket on site at the ticket office. We offer a discounted ticket and free admission for the accompanying person on presentation of the ID.

Dogs

Is my dog allowed on the Treetop Walk?

Is my dog allowed on the Treetop Walk?

Dogs* and animals of all kinds are not allowed on the trail.

In addition to the hygiene aspect, the safety aspect (for animals and humans) plays a major role in this decision. Most responsible owners keep a close eye on their animals, but dogs can still show unexpected social behaviour towards strangers and also towards their peers. A fear of heights in dogs can also trigger flight behaviour. Unfortunately, the narrow path offers neither retreat nor escape possibilities for animals nor for people with a fear of dogs.

There are doghouses with drinking water available for your four-legged friends at the treetop path, and you can use them free of charge.

Information on this is available at the ticket office.

*Exception: disabled companion dogs and care assistance dogs.
